Pin Bhaba Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Drive For Shimal To Kafnu (2682m)
        Drive : 6:7hrs

We will arrange the pick up  from Shimla at 6:30 am. Pick up location will be give 1 week prior to the trek date. The cost of transport will be shared among the trekkers.

You will reach ,the picturesque village of Kafnu, located in Kinnaur, by afternoon. This small hamlet serves as the starting point of the trek. Take time to explore the village and prepare for the adventure ahead. You can enjoy the serenity of the village and the surrounding apple orchards.

Day 2: Trek from Kafnu to Mulling (3292m)
        Distance : 11Km, Time : 6-7hrs

The trek starts with a gradual ascent through dense pine forests along the Bhaba River. The trail is filled with the sounds of nature, and you’ll cross wooden bridges, walk through lush meadows, and see waterfalls cascading down the mountains. As you gain altitude, the forest thins out, and you’ll reach the beautiful campsite at Mulling, surrounded by open meadows and towering peaks.

Day 3: Trek from Mulling to Kara(3597)
        Distance : 6km, Time : 4-5hrs

The trek from Mulling to Kara is relatively short and gentle, with the landscape transitioning to expansive grasslands. You’ll pass through flower-filled meadows and cross streams flowing down from the surrounding glaciers. The campsite at Kara is nestled in a wide valley, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and the Pin River flowing nearby.

Day 4: Trek from Kara to Phutsirang (4115m)
        Distance : 6km, Time : 4-5hrs

The trek from Mulling to Kara is relatively short and gentle, with the landscape transitioning to expansive grasslands. You’ll pass through flower-filled meadows and cross streams flowing down from the surrounding glaciers. The campsite at Kara is nestled in a wide valley, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and the Pin River flowing nearby.

Day 5: Rest and acclimatization at Phutsirang
        

 

 

Day 6: Trek from Phutsiragn to Baldhar via Pin Bhaba Pass (4910m)
        Distance : 11.5km, Time : 8-9hrs

This is the most challenging and exhilarating day of the trek. You’ll start early to cross the Pin Bhaba Pass, a steep and strenuous climb through scree and snow. As you reach the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the dramatic contrast between the green valleys of Kinnaur and the stark, barren landscapes of Spiti. The descent into Spiti is steep and requires caution. You’ll camp at Baldhar, a serene spot in the Pin Valley, with a sense of accomplishment.

Day 7 Trek from Baldhar to Mudh(3798m)
         Distance : 12km, Time : 6-7hrs

The final day of the trek is a descent through the stark, barren landscapes of Spiti Valley. The trail takes you along the Pin River, with views of the unique rock formations and colorful mountains that characterize the Spiti region. The trek ends at the quaint village of Mudh, where you can explore the local culture, visit the ancient monasteries, and enjoy the warmth of Spitian hospitality.y.

Day 8:Drive from Mudh to Manali
        Drive : 7-8hrs

We will arrange the transport for you from Mudh to Manali. The cost will be shared among the trekkers. Expect to reach Manali in the evening.

Pin Bhaba Pass Trek : Important Points

  • Please keep  a buffer day in your itinerary. This is to account for any weather-related delays or if a team is tired and needs an extra day to push to a camp.
  • Kindly ensure that you arrive at Shimla a  day before your travel to Kafnu
  •  Please note that while we endeavor to assist all our clients in achieving their goals, there may be times your leader makes the decision to either delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms.
  • If your want to reach Kafnu on your own do inform us.
