Brahmatal Trek : Overview

Brahmatal is a beautiful and adventurous winter weather trek of Himalayas. Offering you the best views of Mt Trishul and Mt Nanda ghunti and the frozen Brahmatal lake is really exceptional and is a deal with to eyes. The views are pretty enchanting, and one simply can’t take eyes off it. Trekking in the Himalayas in the months of December ,January and February is pretty hard however Brahmatal offers you the best opportunity to do a winter trek.

Price Includes

  • Accommodation – Stay is included from Day 1 to Day 5. You will be staying in a guest house on Day1 and Day 5 and rest of days in tents .( Twin sharing in tents)

Brahmatal Trek Itinerary

Day 1: Reach Lohanjug( 2326m) from Dehradun

Drive: 8-10hrs

Lohajung is the base camp for the Brahmatal trek.It is an 8 hour drive from Dehradun.We will arrgane transport to Lohajung from Dehradun Railway station. The vehicles leave at 6.00 am  from Dehradun Railway Station.The cost is shared among the trekkers

Day 2: Lohajung to Bekaltal( 3012m )

Trek Duration: 5-6 hrs

Today the trek is moderate and gradually ascending through forests. At some sections you will be able catch the views of Mt. Trishul. The Bekaltal lake is ten minute walk from the campsite. It is surrounded by a thick cluster of oask trees. The waters of Bekaltal are always brown.

Day 3: Bekaltal to Brahmatal( 3182m )

The trek Brahmatal is moderate. Initially there is a steep climb for an hour ,which brings you to meadows. From the meadows you get the beautiful views of Mt Trishul and Mt Nandu Ghunti. You can also see the beautiful Ali and Bedni Bugyals of the Roopkund trek.

You will walk on the ridge for some time and after that you will descent to the Brahmatal campsite.

Day 4: Brahmatal to Brahmatal top( 3733m ) and then to Khorurai ( 2791m

Trek Duration: 7-8hrs

Start the day with breakfast, after you will visit Brahmatal lake and then will head to Brahmatal top.The path is a magnificent mountain ridge, with sloping valleys on either side.

It will take about 3-4hrs to reach the top. You will get 180 degree view from the top and will stay in your memory forever.

 After spending some time at the top , we will start our trek to our campsite. On the way we will visit Jhandi top from where you will again get the magnificent view of the mountain ranges. Spend some time here before we you start descending to Khorurai

Day 5: Khorurai to Lohajung ( 2326m)

Trek Duration: 4-5hrs

Begin the descent to Lohajung right after breakfast. You will trekking through thick forest today and after sometime you will catch the first day trail to reach Lohajung.

 

Day 6: Drive Day 6: Lohajung to Dehradun

Drive: 8-10hrs

Start your day early in morning so you can reach your destination by 6pm. We will arrange the transportation and the cost will be shared among the trekkers

Brahmatal Trek : Important Points

  • Please do carry a photo identity card with you
  • Do not book your return train/flight from Dehradun on the day 6 itself. 
  •  Please note that while we endeavor to assist all our clients in achieving their goals, there may be times your leader makes the decision to either delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms.
